So I'll give a brief rundown from the last time I blogged (hopefully it will be brief).
November 2009:
We made a car trip down to Charleston for The Citadel homecoming weekend. It was great to catch-up with old friends. Ran my 2nd 10K race of the year--best time flat! I was so happy! :) Aunt D came down to baby-sit Mr. B and we had a great time in Chucktown. I love that city and would move back there in a heartbeat!
The Grandparents and Aunt D made a trip up from SC to spend Thanksgiving with us! The boys fried turkey (one cajun, one regular) and boy, it was yummy!! We had a good time with our family and couldn't wait to spend Christmas with everyone. Mr. B was showing off as usual. He learned how to pull up on the coffee table and was cruzing, Army style, and was doing it all week/weekend long. He also enjoyed the yummy Thanksgiving dinner.
December 2009:
Mr. B started to cut his first tooth! We could finally feel one of his bottom teeth cutting through the gum line.
We got our first "snow storm" and it was a major one. We got 20.5" of snow and loved (almost) every minute of it. It was very memorizing watching the snow fall all day long. However that feeling left as soon as we had to start shoveling it off our driveway and walkway! Let me tell you--us southeners were not prepared for snow and definitely not prepared for twenty inches of it!
We bought Mr. B a snow suit (snow bibs and snow jacket) and he looked so adorable in it! He was not very fond of the snow. We know next year he will enjoy it more.
Me and Mr. B the morning of the big snow storm!
B was out there with his Army boots and pants with our snow shovel borrowed from our neighbor shoveling snow. At first, I went out in the white stuff with jeans and an old pair of tennis shoes. I think my neighbor felt bad for me so she let me borrow some snow shoes and pants.

Mr. B and I..he doesn't look very happy and you see my snow "attire"

The week after our big snow storm, we headed down south for some more holiday festivities. We had a packed car and an 8 hour drive. Before we made this long, day trip to the Carolinas, Mr. B had come down with some weird viral rash. We took him to the doctor the day before we thought we were going to be leaving. The doc told us that there wasn't anything (antibiotics) to give him and it should go away in about 7 days. We decided to leave that evening instead of early morning since we had a family photo shoot in Charolette. I was very excited to finally get some photos of our family and to finally meet the Duet Diva from When a Duet Becomes a Trio. After a very eventful ride, we made it down to Nana and Pappi's house. Mr. B got lots of fun stuff from Nana, Pappi, and all of his wonderful aunts and of course, Santa. Christmas morning we treked down to the countryland to see my family and the day after, celebrated Uncle P's birthday and Christmas with GiGi, Grandpa, Aunt S, Zoe, Helen, Great Granny, and Uncle P! We had a good trip and Mr. B ate up ALL the attention. We were all very exhausted (after finally making it home) and we were all in need for a day of rest. Merry Christmas to everyone!

January 2010:
B and I decided to do something special for New Year's this year. He got me a fancy dress to wear and we got all dressed up for a night-out. We enjoyed dinner in the city which was accompainied by a good friend. We dined and wined and were ready to ring in the New Year (or we thought we were ready). After dinner, we walked a couple of blocks to a bar (one of the few bars that didn't have a cover). We had a beverage and then decided to go home, get in our PJs, and watch the ball drop from our couch and our own TV. That we did, after we got pulled over from our taxi driver not being able to drive. Boy, we were glad we finally made it home.
Mr. B had his 9 month checkup (even though he was closer to 10months). It went well. He was 28 3/4" long, 19.4 pounds and still going strong. He covered all the milestones that a 9 month should be doing and the doctor told us he was perfect! He's been doing the following:
- says "mama" and "dada"
- pull up and cruise along furniture
- stands up on his own for a few seconds
- walks with support
- starting to grasp finger food with a pincer grasp
- drinks from a sippy cup (finally done with bottles!!)
- sits up from a laying down position
- crawls
- crawls up the stairs
- mocks and chases Midnight
So, there you have it a run down of events to play catch up on one MIA blogger!
