7 months

Sunday was Benton's 7 month birthday! I can't believe it. He is growing up so fast and in just a couple of months he will be 1! Benton accomplishes so many new things every day; it has been amazing to watch this baby boy grow right before our eyes. We don't know his measurements and won't know until his 9 month check up, which will be in Janurary sometime, but I'm guessing this boy is well over 15lbs, maybe pushing 17lbs, and probably around 28 inches long.

Benton is enjoying more and more baby food and table food and enjoys sitting with us at the dinner table. Luna especially enjoys it when Benton eats his Cheerios since most of them end up on the floor! We can't believe how much he has been chowing down. Just last night he ate a stage 2 harvest vegetable w/grains and a stage 2 bananas and was still wanting more! It was funny--I couldn't get the food from the container to his mouth fast enough--as soon as he had one scoop of food, he was reaching for more. Then he down a 7oz bottle!

His milestones, so far:
-Army crawling! He has learned how to move forward on his belly. When he sees something he wants, he will reach in front of him and pull himself towards his hands and continue this movement until he has reached what he was trying to get. He has started to try to get on his knees, but still has not gotten the hang of it. His poor knees are constantly red from all the moving he has done! It will be soon before he learns how to crawl on his knees--then there won't be any stopping him!

-Food! This boy loves food--what can I say he is Gailey! :) We suspect that he will be long and thin just like how his daddy used to be. We don't know where he puts all this food he inhales, but man, he loves to chow down. He can usually down at least one container of stage 2 baby food, depending on what it is. He's still not loving the green veggies. So far, he's had/tried: YoBaby yogurt, smashed bananas, smashed avacodo, banana peach granola, harvest vegetables, bread, Cheerios, pizza crust, carrots, squash, butternut squash & corn, sweet potatoes (& w/corn), tomato soup, and anything else he likes to get his grimy hands on!

-Benton can pull up on his own. Our coffee table is still a little high for him, but he has the strength to lift himself up if we're holding his hands above his head.

-He's still trying to sit up while laying on his back. His body looks like a U-shape since he can lift his head and legs up, but haven't figured out how to go from the laying position to the sitting position.

-He loves his jumperoo! We can put him in his jumper and he will stay in there for hours! He especially likes it when the dog and cats scoot by him--he gets a kick out of it.

-He can stand on his own only if he's holding on to something, but if he sees something, then he lets go and falls. He can also stand on his own without support for just a couple of seconds and then he's either grabbing for something to hold or sits down. He's has great balance.

-He has made a couple of steps with support. If one of us is behind him holding his hands, he can/will take some steps forward.

-He still likes to put everything in his mouth, even Luna and Midnight's fur (they aren't very fond of this, but tolerate it some.)

-Bath time has becomes more and more interesting. He likes to pull the toy basket, which is suctioned to the tub, down and shake it in the water to pour out the toys in the water and then put the basket in his mouth. He likes to move his legs back and forth to make waves--this gives him a good laugh. His recent thing is turning on his stomach to reach for a toy,which is on the other side of the tub, and will try to crawl to that end of the tub to get the toy. Once he gets the toy--it goes straight to his mouth. He looks like a fish..a fish trying to swim upstream! Too funny.


We can't wait until next month to see which milestones he has reached and to watch him eat some Thanksgiving food--gobble gobble.
