Here's a list of things that I could not live without when it comes to taking care of a baby.

1. SwaddleMe blanket: This saved us earlier on when Benton was born. We did not have "big" enough blankets and my lack of trying to swaddle Benton in his newborn stages were very unsuccessful. So we got a SwaddleMe as a gift at one of our showers and decided to try it out. It's a life saver. It has a pouch at the bottom for his legs and velcro across his chest. He did not break out of the swaddle and slept through the night. He then outgrew the smallest size one so we got the bigger one; it only comes in two sizes: small and large, and the large one was too large. We tried it out for a couple of nights; it worked, but it was still too big. We decided one night not using it, unsuccessful! Next move: sleeping on his stomach. He can roll over from his stomach to his back, so we figured this can't hurt anything.

2. Bourdeaux Butt Paste: This stuff works amazingly, much, much better than Desitin. If your baby has any sign of rash, rub this stuff on and next diaper change its gone! Benton got a horrible diaper rash, after his fiasco with peas/spinach, and the butt paste wicked away the moisture from his hiney and cleared up the rash!

3. Baby Bjourn: ( or generic version) This carrier works wonders! Benton loves being in it as well, especially now because we can turn him facing outward. Sometimes the stroller is too bulky and we don't feel like carrying him in the car seat, so we plop him in the carrier and we go, go, go! You are hands free, too, which makes life with a baby 100% workable!

4. Play Gym: Any time we need to do something in which a carrier is not suitable for or just little things around the house, we plop Benton on his play gym and he's a happy camper. This is one of those "escapes"--if you need to use the bathroom or something, it's nice to be able to put him down and have him entertain himself.

5. bibs: Benton drools constantly! Bibs come in handy to wipe off the drool. He's starting to blow rasberries which causes even more slavia to come out, so bibs are a must.
